UNIKIMS is the Management School of the University of Kassel specializing in part-time master’s programs, certificates, seminars, and corporate training, blending scientific knowledge with practical application. Since 2005, it has become a key partner in continuing education, serving over 1,200 professionals annually from 300+ companies. Designed for fulltime employees, UNIKIMS offers flexible learning through concentrated classroom phases, online seminars, and service-oriented organization. UNIKIMS is also committed to sustainability, collaborating with NGOs such as Moving Windmills and SOS Children’s Villages to develop green energy-focused educational programs for developing countries, covering wind, solar, water, biogas, and ecological agriculture.

UNIKIMS offers a wide range of part-time continuing education programmes. In the energy sector, these include the two Master of Science programmes in "Wind Energy Systems" and "Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency". Other offered programs are the Diploma of Basic Studies in "Site-Adapted Transformation Technologies in the Global South" and the Diplomas of Advanced Studies in "Wind Energy Systems".

Diploma of Basic Studies "Site-Adapted Transformation Technologies in the Global South"

The Diploma of Basic Studies is a program, that offers students worldwide the opportunity to acquire interdisciplinary technical knowledge to address challenges in the Global South more effectively and sustainably. It follows a modular educational approach, enabling countries in the Global South to better navigate technological transformations. Key focus areas include wind and solar energy, water and wastewater management, agriculture, biogas, and energy storage.

Upon completing 30 credits—equivalent to 900 hours of study—students will earn a Diploma of Basic Studies from the University of Kassel. Designed as a part-time program, it primarily targets development aid workers, including local talents from Global South countries who are eager to contribute to their nation's transformation, equipping them with technological insights to enhance the sustainability of development initiatives.

Students can choose to take individual modules or complete the full program, allowing for a personalized learning experience. The courses are delivered entirely online, ensuring flexible access for all students. In addition to live lectures, students will have access to recorded sessions, discussion forums, an online library with relevant literature, digital learning platforms, and personal online consultation hours. This approach ensures both accessibility and interactivity, allowing students to engage with the material at their own pace and connect with their peers and instructors.

Online Master of Science "Wind Energy Systems"

WES.online is a full master program designed for natural scientists and engineers who want to learn about the mechanical and electronic operation and interaction of wind turbines. The program was also created for specialists and managers who want to develop or improve the design or individual components of a wind turbine at a wind turbine manufacturer or supplier company. At the end of your studies, you will receive a German degree – a country recognized worldwide for its knowledge in wind energy and its ambition in driving the development of wind energy forward.

Online Diplomas of Advanced Studies "Wind Energy Systems"

The Wind Energy Systems (WES.online) diploma courses allow you to specialize in different aspects of wind energy. Each of them exists of five carefully selected modules that will teach you exactly that knowledge which you need to achieve your goal. All modules are part of our master program Online M.Sc. Wind Energy Systems which was designed for natural scientists and engineers who want to become part of the wind energy industry.

Master of Science "Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency"

The objective of the international Master of Science (M.Sc.) program REMENA is to educate German and international students in measures for a sustainable energy sector where the students are expected to have working experience in a corresponding area and hold a Bachelor degree. The latter can be obtained in different disciplines, e.g. law, economic, social, engineering or natural sciences. Applicants can be accepted for the REMENA program independently of their nationality.

Three universities – the University of Kassel, Germany, the University of Monastir, Tunisia, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), India – in cooperation with institutions and companies in the renewable energy sector have combined their expertise to design an attractive Master program to guarantee an excellent education for young experts to meet the challenges of sustainable energy supply and renewable energy and energy efficiency topics. An even broader range of topics is offered by REMENA University Network (RUN) partners for optional exchange semesters including the University of Sfax (US), Tunisia, and the German University in Cairo (GUC), Egypt.

REMENA graduates will be experts in different disciplines for future projects in the energy sector with a special focus on international cooperation and will receive a double-degree from the University of Kassel and the JNTUH OR from the University of Kassel and the University of Monastir.
